Example: 1Ti 4:14 Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received through the prophecy
spoken over you when the elders of the church laid their hands on you.
Example: Deu 18:18 'I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you,
and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.
Define & Examples of “Observed” prophecy
“Ra’ah” and “chozeh” – Tends to be visual and is often mixed with discernment of spirits.
Example: 1Sa 9:9 (Formerly in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, he used to say,
"Come, and let us go to the seer"; for he who is called a prophet now was formerly called a seer.)
Example: 2Ki 6:17 Then Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see."
And the LORD opened the servant's eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses
and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

1Co 12:4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
We see this word “diversities” and understand it to mean the nine gifts of the Spirit, but it is much more than that.
A person is not limited to one flavor, but may flow in two or more flavors at the same time.
Flavors of Prophecy
Dreamers & Visionaries
This flavor is purposed with awakening God’s people to the spirit realm, and can confirm the direction of God that has been given to others.
Zec 4:1-2 Then the angel who was speaking with me returned and roused me, as a man who is awakened from his sleep.
He said to me, "What do you see?" And I said, "I see, and behold, a lampstand all of gold with its bowl on the top
of it, and its seven lamps on it with seven spouts belonging to each of the lamps which are on the top of it;
God’s Corporate Purpose
This person rarely, if ever, prophesy over individuals in personal ministry. Instead, they discern
times and seasons and bring clarity to the direction of the body of Christ.
Paul, in the New Testament, operated in this area by working to lay the foundation of the new
Christian church and guide its development thorough his instruction.
This flavor of the prophetic gives a person a hunger for God’s heart, and brings to the church a
desire for those things of God such as holy thoughts, convictions, intentions, motives. Their purpose
is to usher in the fruit of the Spirit, nurture the character of Christ, and promote purity and holiness.
This flavor of prophecy calls the church to care for widows, orphans, the poor, the oppressed,
and the prisoner. Those in need with no one to help them.
Amos 5:24 "But let justice roll down like waters And righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
Administrative Strategy w/ Political Slant
Daniel had the ear of Nebuchadnezzar and influenced his decisions.
Moses led 3 million Jews out of slavery and organized them into a nation.
As President, Donald Trump moved the US embassy to Jerusalem bringing credibility to the capitol of Israel.
This person helps release people into God’s presence, by expressing their love for God,
and receiving God’s love. They become vessels through which the Holy Spirit flows.
David is an example of a prophetic psalmist.
1Sa 16:23 So it came about whenever the evil spirit from God came to Saul, David would
take the harp and play it with his hand; and Saul would be refreshed and be well, and the
evil spirit would depart from him.
Prophetic intercessors can affect individuals, communities, cities, and nations depending
on God’s direction. This person may also receive an international burden.
In Daniel, Chapter 9, we see Daniel’s intercessory prayer for Israel’s release from Babylonian captivity.
This person follows the wind of the Holy Spirit. To some they may appear flighty as they are caught up in the Spirit’s wind.
Unusual manifestations follow this person. People falling in the Spirit, quaking, shaking, and effected speech as God moves.
This person can even blow on a person effecting God’s movement.
Prophetic counselors combine pastoral caring and healing with the prophetic. They often mix the
spirit of counsel with the spirit of understanding as seen in Isaiah 11:2:
Isa 11:2 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The
spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.
The gift of discernment of spirits will sometimes give them insight into their counsel.
Prophetic counselors primarily minister to men and women on a personal or family basis.
Prophetic Equippers function best in a teaching setting by combining both teaching and
prophetic equipping. This person can take abstract concepts like the spirit realm and make
it understandable and relatable as they mentor and disciple according to their call.
Prophetic writers listen to the Holy Spirit guide their words as they compose through their prophetic insight.
Perhaps the most well known example of a prophetic writer is Moses, who, by divine download, penned the
Books of Moses, which are the first five books of the Bible, also known as the Torrah.
This is a gift in which I am well acquainted.
This person brings the Gospel to the streets, to the individual, with a keen insight into
the life of the person with whom they speak. This demonstration of God’s prophetic gift often
results in, “How did you know that?”
Dr. Ray has shared testimony of prophetic evangelism.
Refrain from assuming you know how a person’s gift should work.
Be sensitive to each person’s uniqueness as you encourage them to discover their unique prophetic flavor.
Remember that the Holy Spirit gives gifts for the common good, but also to equip you for what God calls you to do.
It’s well within God’s ability to call you to use a gift in a way never seen before.
