Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Anxiety can range from mild to extreme panic.
Mild Anxiety:
It can be a regular part of everyday life. It is characterized by nervousness, fidgeting, nail biting, restlessness, irritability, or anticipating bad news.
Moderate Anxiety:
There are persistent feelings of worrying, inability to relax, constant tension, and feeling on edge. There may be elevated heart rate.
Severe Anxiety:
It can be debilitating with extreme worrying, high levels of stress, shortness of breath, elevated heart rate, and overwhelming feelings of fear and dread.
Panic:
Panic is the worst level of anxiety. It contains feelings of being out of control, dread, impending doom, feelings of dying, suffocation, racing thoughts, overwhelming fear, and completely rehabilitating.
Panic can make the victim feel they are losing their mind or going insane.
Genetics, external circumstances, medications, and demonic influence can influence the level of anxiety.
Common Causes:
Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Solutions for the victim and the counselor:
When no counselor is present - Do a spiritual warfare type of prayer (may need assistance from a family member or someone present).

When no counselor is present:
Practice focused deep breathing
Self-talk
Proper medication, if prescribed and available
Mediate on verses such as - Psalms 94:19 When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your consolations delight my soul.
For the counselor:
Listen carefully and determine the source to plan your counseling strategy.
Help the victim with distorted thinking.
Give much-repeated reassurance - Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
Be available for crisis phone calls.
Pray renewing the mind types of prayer - Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
Have the victim close any door that should not be open through faith in Christ, renouncing, repentance, and forgiveness.
Understand that only part of the problem is usually spiritual; much of the problem can be natural.
Know when to refer to a medical professional.
