Same Works as Jesus

Mark 14:36 And He was saying, "Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will."

Jesus took the cup that belonged to us. Within the cup was the poison that was punishment for all our sins and rebellion.

He made us into a vessel that the Holy Spirit can come and live within.

Jesus wants more than just to save us. He wants us to work for Him during our time on earth.

2 Corinthian 5:14 – 15 For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

We have a responsibility to respond to the gift of salvation.

Jesus gave us some specific instructions —

Act 1:8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."

We are to be witnesses of Christ, but we are to do it with power.

We are more than a witness. We are an ambassador that carries the authority of the one who sent us.

2 Corinthian 5:20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ,

"Ambassador" - Webster’s definition - : the highest-ranking person who represents his or her own government while living in another country

We represent Christ and His kingdom to another country which is this world.

John 14:12 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.”

The only condition for the commandment within this Scripture is to be a believer.

The promise and command of the John 14:12 is that believers will do the same works as Jesus and even greater works.

Our response to our salvation is to do the works of Christ. Each one of us is to continue His ministry in the area assigned to us.

A true Christ centered ministry is a supernatural ministry. The best way to represent our supernatural Savior is to do the same supernatural works that He did.

Jesus has given us power to be true witnesses.

A witness of Christ doesn't just talk about Christ. He demonstrates Christ.

As a demonstration of Christ we are to make disciples and do it the way that Jesus did.

Jesus did not simply teach them about the power of God. He demonstrated the power and love of God.

We are to make disciples but do it with demonstrations of the supernatural power of Jesus Christ.

Mat 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,"

Salvation comes with responsibilities.
