About me
Appointed by Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings as an At-Large Representative for the M/WBE Advisory Board, Melissa S. Myers is not your typical HR and recruiting expert. She is a professional with a lifelong affinity for technology and an illustrious career dedicated to streamlining processes, enhancing employee skills, and nurturing talent within organizations. With over two decades of experience in the industry, Melissa has consistently demonstrated her ability to drive meaningful change and foster growth.
Melissa’s journey into the world of technology began at the age of eight when she grew up in a tech-savvy household. Building computers from a tender age laid the foundation for her remarkable career in the tech and HR sectors.
Her career kicked off with a significant role as a recruiter for subcontractors at a nationwide cable company. At just 21, she was entrusted with a pivotal role at a corporate law firm, where she orchestrated the training of attorneys and their staff in firm-specific software. Melissa’s innovative approach led her to create training videos that were made available on the firm’s intranet, significantly reducing the IT Department’s workload by providing end-users with easily accessible resources.
With years of experience providing recruitment services to various organizations and government contracting firms, Melissa decided to establish “Just Write Inc.” This dynamic staffing organization offers comprehensive recruiting and HR services to organizations worldwide, transforming the way businesses build and manage their workforce.
Melissa is a seasoned consultant with a wealth of knowledge in HR and recruiting. Her expertise spans over 20 years, during which she has mastered the art of developing efficient processes and procedures. She excels in staff training on a wide range of employee-related topics, system implementation, and talent assessment and coaching.
While Melissa’s professional accomplishments are impressive, her dedication to community service is equally remarkable. For more than a decade, she has been a passionate advocate for change in her community. She has spearheaded food drives, participated in civic programs addressing social hardships, and worked to rectify injustices, including advocating for fair treatment of the City of Ocoee Fire Department members.
Melissa’s commitment to empowering individuals in her community led her to establish “Just Write Consulting Inc,” a non-profit organization that provides invaluable support and resources for career development, business growth, and overall success. Her work in the community has not gone unnoticed, as she has received awards such as the Community Crime Prevention Grant from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
In 2020, Melissa published her journal, “Making Success a Reality ™,” a spiritual guide for individuals seeking a more successful life. She also entered the political arena as the
Campaign Manager for Commissioner George Oliver, an incumbent and the first African American elected official in the City of Ocoee. Her political acumen and strategic guidance played a pivotal role in securing victory for the campaign.
Driven by her unwavering passion for her community, Melissa took a significant step by running for State Representative District 40 in the State of Florida. Her campaign, “Let’s Put Our Passion into Action,” reflects her belief in the power of community partnerships and her commitment to making positive changes through collaborative efforts.
Melissa’s vision for the future is rooted in creating economic growth and empowering citizens. She aims to expand career development programs and collaborate with developers to provide more sustainable housing solutions for those in need. She is also a staunch advocate for youth, seniors, and increased resources for individuals struggling with mental health issues.
In every aspect of her life, Melissa S. Myers embodies servant leadership, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to serving her community and creating a better future for all.
