Something I have learned...Take a look at this amazing testimony from one of our students who just finished the course-Living in the Kingdom of God!
Something I have learned through this course is that God wants me to submit to Him. He wants me to relinquish control of my life so that He can lead me. Because man is obsessed with control, it is a difficult thing to do. Yet, God expects this of me if He is ever going to lead me. Through this course, I have learned the importance of allowing God to take control of my life and ministry. I may be tempted to think that in certain situations I know the best step to take, but on the contrary, He does. He always wants the best for us, and only through Him can I be fulfilled in life and in ministry.
Very importantly, I have learned that God's system is not a democracy, but a kingdom where God is the King. In this kingdom, I don't get to choose or vote; He is the King and He will reign supreme. This means that His will reigns every time and in every situation. While we may have our own desires and wants, I have come to understand that my true desires are only fulfilled when I allow His reign in my life and ministry.
One of the most profound things I have learned from this course is the crucial need to submit myself to authority. This is one area where ministers make a mistake. Because of the anointing and gifting of God in their lives, they let pride unknowingly creep in and make them feel too big to submit to authority. Through this course however, I have learned that there cannot be true authority if I have not learned to submit. Authority is delegated. So, to have authority, I must humble myself and submit to a Higher Authority that God has given to men ahead of me. I have chosen not to let the enemy tell his lies to me anymore after going through this course. True authority lies in humility by submitting to a Higher Authority. This understanding shed such great light on the scripture in James 4:7 in the course of this lesson and it is so enlightening.
One more thing I have learned through this course is the striking difference between sufficiency and abundance. While sufficiency is having just enough to meet our immediate needs, abundance is having more than enough. The key point in abundance is not just having more than enough, but having the understanding and purpose of why God gives us more than enough. God gives us abundance so we can be His channel to bless others. The abundance of God in our lives is to let His blessing overflow to those around us. This is truly profound. God does not give us an abundance so we can pride ourselves in it by living too much of a luxurious life, but so that He can reach out and bless more lives through us.
In the Kingdom of God being saved by Grace through faith, it is important for us to show forth good works to validate the faith that we have on the inside. I have committed to share this with God's people with great emphasis so that the value of good works can be truly understood. We are not showing good works to be acceptable to God; we are already accepted by God through faith in Christ. Now, we are showing good works because we have a new life in us and that life produces good works
